Away from the mass tourism you´ll find nature nature nature. Just a 45 minute ride from Kuching Airport (almost every 30 minutes departs a flight from Kuala Lumpur with AirAsia or Malaysian Airlines) and you´ll get in touch with the first rainforest impressions.
Here you have the opportunity to combine Beach with rainforest - the Permain Rainforest Resort make it possible. Unique treehouses with a amazing view in the forest and even to the ocean. Recommendable are the 10 Treehouses 20 feets high in the top of the old trees with a breathless view.
Max. the sound of the sea could be bothering - no not really, it just nature and a gift for your holiday. By the way - the very old and wooden bungalows are inside very comfortable with A/C, fridge, coffee making facilities and warm water.
Left in the neighborhood is a huge and very very ugly resort which have only one advantage - a diveshop (but open only in high season) otherwise try to avoid this area - just the beach in front of this “accident” is o.K..
But if you want to swim or sunbathing at a much more beautiful beach go 5 minutes to the right and you´ll find the 2nd Beach - here no Hotel disturb the beautiful view and beach feeling. Apart from this there is a fresh water “pool” which is filled with the water from the mountains - a little bit cold sometimes but absolut purely and pristine (o.K. i admit a little bit green after a heavy rainshower)
At the evening you should try the Cafe (Restaurant) from the Permain Resort with icecold TIGER and good local food. If you´re searching for some variety walk just 5 minutes to a small promenade where you can find a 7Eleven, some souvenier shops, Restaurants and of course a bar with seaview.
As mentioned - 3 or 4 days are sufficient to enjoy this area but without a 1-2 hrs walk through the rainforest you can´t disappear.
